On April 29, 2024, the Jiangxi Province 2024 Sports Teaching Volunteer Service Expedition Ceremony was held at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. Li Chungen, Vice President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Xiong Lingyun, Head of the Youth Department of Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau, Wang Hao, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, and Ouyang Ying, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Education, attended the expedition ceremony. More than 100 leaders, team leaders, and volunteers from Jingdezhen Ceramic University, Gannan Normal University, Yichun College, and Xinyu College participated in the event. The expedition ceremony was presided over by Xu Xuchuan, Dean of the School of Physical Education at Jiangxi University of Finance andEconomics.

In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the20thNational Congress of the Communist Party of China, implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse and instructions on sports, and help solve the problem of insufficient physical education teachers in grassroots schools, the General Administration of Sport of China issued the "Notice of the General Office of the General Administration of Sport on Carrying out 2024 Sports Support Education Volunteer Service" this year, and carried out sports support education volunteer service work in nine provinces across the country, including Shanxi, Jiangxi, andHubei.

Vice President Li Chungen pointed out in his speech at the expedition ceremony that the sports support teaching action is a far-reaching measure. It can not only bring advanced sports concepts and teaching methods to grassroots schools, make up for the shortage of rural sports education resources, but also narrow the education gap between urban and rural areas, and enable rural children to enjoy the right to sports equally. Each teaching team should devote 100% of their enthusiasm to this work, using sports teaching as a bridge to enable more children to enjoy high-quality sports educationresources.

Xiong Lingyun, the head of the Youth Department of Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau, pointed out that the bureau attaches great importance to the sports education support action and regards it as an important measure to promote the development of grassroots sports education in Jiangxi. Volunteers should be based on the present and face the future in the process of implementing sports teaching support actions. They should not only focus on solving the problems and deficiencies in current school physical education, but also pay attention to the development trends and needs of future physical education. Volunteers should fully exert their exemplary and leading role, drive grassroots school physical education teachers to update their educational concepts, improve teaching methods, and contribute to the cultivation of socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, andlabor.

At the ceremony, Liu Sheng, the leader of Jingdezhen Ceramic University, and Xi Jingxin, a student from Gannan Normal University, respectively spoke on behalf of the leader and volunteer teachers. Xiong Lingyun, on behalf of the Provincial Sports Bureau, presented flags to Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Jingdezhen Ceramic University, Gannan Normal University, Yichun College, and Xinyu College, which were responsible for this volunteer teachingservice.

The 2024 Sports Teaching Volunteer Service Work in Jiangxi Province is sponsored by the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau under the guidance of the Youth Department of the General Administration of Sport of China, undertaken by Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and co organized by Jingdezhen Ceramic University, Gannan Normal University, Yichun College, and Xinyu College. 100 sports-major students from those five universities will go to 34 primary and secondary schools in five counties (cities) of Jiangxi Province to carry out a six-month sports teaching volunteerservice.
