Our Staff Participated in the 1ST College Teacher Emergency Training Course of National Emergency Education Pilot in JiangxiProvince

From June 5th to 12th, an initial training class for Red Cross emergency rescue teachers was held at the Jiangxi Provincial Red Cross Emergency Service Center by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education and the Jiangxi Red Cross Society. As the first batch of national emergency education pilot universities, our university actively responsed to the call of the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Department of Education, and four of our teachers, Wu Chaoqun from the School of Sports, Li Yunqin and Tang Caisheng from the school hospital, and Wang Yun from the Affiliated High School, were selected to participate in the training, with other 36 people from other pilot schools of emergency education and voluntary service organizations.

At the opening ceremony, Dai Ying, Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Li Diwen, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education, and the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Red Cross Emergency and Ambulance Service Center attended and delivered speeches respectively. While emphasizing the normalized epidemic prevention and control requirements and training discipline, the trainees were encouraged to study hard, consciously publicize and promote the Red Cross spirit of ‘humanity, fraternity, and dedication’, and contribute to the pilot work of first aid education inschools.

This training focused on daily basic first aid knowledge, covering Red Cross movement, introduction to first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), AED use, trauma care, and knowledge on common emergencies and accidental injuries. In accordance with the principle of ‘high standards and strict requirements’, during the one-week training, the lecturers of the Provincial Red Cross Training Center combined theoretical lectures, video, demonstration operations, and simulation exercises. The knowledge points were explained in easy-to-understand, simple and wise and humorous language, and the teaching quality was good. The trainees have passed 48 class hours of theoretical knowledge and practical skills training, passed the trial lectures, theoretical and practical assessments, and have all obtained the qualifications of emergency rescue trainers from the Jiangxi Red CrossSociety.

As the first batch of national first-aid education pilot schools, our school also attaches great importance to first-aid education, and has adopted the characteristic model of ‘prevention education first, school-department collaboration, and school-community integration’ to further improve emergency service. The penetration rate of knowledge among teachers and students in our school maximizes the unique role of the Red Cross in emergency rescue and fulfills the role of the Red Cross as an assistant of the party and the government in the humanitarian field and a bridge linking the masses.
