From May 16th to 19th, the Jiangxi Provincial University Student Track and Field Competition was held at theYaohuShell Stadium in Jiangxi Normal University. A total of 1,318 athletes from 61universities andcollegesparticipated in theGame.The dean of our collegeXuXuchuanserved as the team leader, and teachers HuangLiping,XuZhen, and XiaChangjianserved as coaches. 31 athletes were selected to participate in the competition (including 20 undergraduate group A athletes and 11 undergraduate group Bathletes).

The track and field team achieved extraordinary results after four days of arduous competition. Athletes won a total of 3 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in individual events. In addition, the women’s 3000m event broke the school discipline and improved by 23 seconds. 3 events won the fourth place, 4 events won the fifth place, 5 events won the sixth place, 8 events won the seventh place, and 3 events won the eighth place.Gong Zhen won the 400-meter runner-up. This is the first time that a student not from sports school won medals at the Universiade. The group project won 3 honors, namely the seventh place in the undergraduate team totalscore (190 points), the seventh place in the undergraduate men’s team total score (105 points), and the seventh place in the undergraduate women’s team total score (85 points); Gong Zhen, Wang Tianqi and other four students have reached the national second-level athlete standard. YangHao,WenJieand ZhangMengxiangwon the ‘Sportsmanship Award’ in thiscompetition.
